Charissa Wong, MD

Dr. Wong’s greatest satisfaction comes from getting to know her patients and tailoring her care and advice to the particular needs of each individual. To do this, she spends time to learn about her patients and their concerns, as well as their medical profiles. By focusing on treating the person, rather than the medical condition, Dr. Wong is able to integrate her ophthalmic care into her patients’ lives and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Wong graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University School of Medicine and her fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine.
Dr. Wong is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Prior to moving to New Jersey, she served as a clinical instructor at Georgetown University Hospital. Her contributions to the ophthalmology profession were recognized with the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wong lives in suburban New Jersey with her husband and three wonderful children. When she is not working or serving in school leadership positions, Dr. Wong enjoys photography, playing the piano and gardening. She is also involved with her local community and is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, which provides high quality performing arts education to students of all backgrounds.
